“This brings me so much relaxation and enjoyment,” Orem shared. “It’s so different from sitting at a desk and working on a computer or talking to a client. It’s a totally different mindset.”

Boys and cars. That’s how Bob Hale and his dad, Robert Hale, bonded. Bob would tag along with Robert as he showed his cars in Indianapolis, first at The Suds on the southside, later at Bill’s Fabulous 50’s on the westside. 

We sat down with the Chairperson of the Indiana House Ways and Means Committee, Jeff Thompson, to get a better understanding of why revenue forecasts for the State were revised significantly downward, how the State managed that shortfall, changes in local income tax formulas and property tax reform. This will be a three-part series. Part one will be about revenue forecasting and the States biennial budget.

I thought this was a news story, until I started going back into The Republican’s archives and looking at what I had written and photographed. That’s when I knew this was more than a series of stories, it was a memory.

“The high school team had never won state until this year,” said Brandon Boals, Brownsburg Rugby Club Coach.  

The organization, which was established in 2002, brought home their first high school title on May 26. After the big win, some of the D2 State Champions chatted with the Republican about their successful season.
