The following bills are generating the most calls to District 24 State S

enator Brett Clark’s office. Clark represents six of the twelve townships in Hendricks County.

HB 1343: Public safety matters. Everything from requiring cut-off switches on some water vessels to changes of Military Family Relief fund requirements to providing the Indiana National Guard of the ability to create a military police force and establishes an Indiana Civilian Cyber Corp and giving immunity to its advisors and volunteers if they injure a person or damage a person’s property. As of this writing, the bill passed the House, referred to the Senate and is currently in the Senate Appropriations committee.

HB 1001: Housing Matters. Engrossed House Bill. It covers several areas of housing. Reduces local government control over housing and accessory buildings. Lots of substantial changes to local residential zoning control. As of this writing, the bill passed the House and has been referred to the Senate.

HB 1210: Dept. of Local Government Finance. Engrossed bill. Covers a myriad of far ranging topics from Gary to Jackson County. Gambling, mobile homes, fire protection districts, tourism, etc. As of this writing, the bill passed the House and has been referred to the Senate.

HB 1333: Land Use and Development. Not shown as an Engrossed Bill. Allows government immunity if developing on brownfields land. Data Centers to contribute 1% of the tax exemption they get from state incentives to the local unit of government the data center resides in. As of this writing, the bill passed the House and has been referred to the Senate.

SB 76: Immigration Matters. Engrossed Senate Bill. In short, it gives enlarged protection to all law enforcement agencies involved with immigration issues in Indiana. As of this writing the House amended the bill and has been returned to the Senate for them to review the amended.
