Watch artists of all ages fill canvasses with images of people and places. Don’t forget the FREE Family Fun Art Day from 1 - 3:45 p.m. in front of the Gallery on the Square.

Be an eye witness to Art on Saturday, August 8, 2026, 7 a.m. - 2 p.m., as Gallery on the Square hosts its 9th annual “Paint the Town” plein air competition. Artists of all ages from across Indiana create original works based on what they see around the Court House Square in Danville.

The Danville Farmers Market will be open on the east side of the square from 8 a.m. to noon.

The free “Family Art Day” will be from 1 - 3:45 p.m. In case of bad weather, the family fun event, judging and the awards presentations will be moved to Danville Christian Church’s gym, 180 W. Main Street, Danville.

At 4 p.m. the Gallery on the Square will present their annual art scholarship to a recent Danville Community High School graduate who will be studying art at college this fall. In addition, over $3,000 in cash awards will be given to artists in four categories: Professional, Non-professional, Teen and Youth.

The following week, the work of the participating artists will be on display at the Gallery on the Square through September 20. That evening, the public is invited to a reception announcing the People’s Choice Awards. You may vote at the Gallery from August 11 until September 19 for winners in several categories.

Danville Rotary Club’s 2026 Summer Porchfest map

The Rotary Club’s Danville Summer Porchfest keeps you runnin’ minute by minute, allowing you to listen to the music well after the white sun disappears into the black water. The listing of Doobie Brothers songs aside, not having enough musical options in Danville this Saturday, is what a fool believes.

There are 24 musicians performing on 11 porches and two stages in downtown Danville this weekend. The variety of music from rock to pop, country to folk, to soul and even some karaoke, will be everywhere within earshot of the square.

During the afternoon there will always be three artists to choose from, while the evening brings featured acts Tarron Lawson Band and Jennie DeVoe headlining. In addition to the music, there will be food trucks and, of course, the Danville Rotary Hot Dog Cart will be cooking. So bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and even a golf cart and enjoy a day of live music that will end with you going home rockin’ down the highway.
