Looking Back and Ahead: Town of Brownsburg
This is the third week of our looking back and ahead series where we take a look at some of the changes across our communities throughout 2025, and preview some things yet to come in ‘26.
On the agenda for this week is the Town of Brownsburg. Let’s get into it.
Brownsburg underwent a lot of growth throughout ‘25 with a handful of large developments.
The first being the new Hendricks Regional Health medical building. The 50,000 sq.ft., $65 million facility is intended to house specialty practices.
Another health related addition is the Center for Pain Management. The clinic/surgery center opened a new 13,000 sq.ft. operation, according to Deb Cook, Town Manager.
Bryan Herta Autosports also brought business to Brownsburg last year as they invested in a 38,000 sq.ft. space.
Speaking of investments, “some of our biggest investment in economic development happened probably this year, that we’ve seen, ever,” Cook said before discussing the Harper Collins project.
Harper Collins is a logistics center that broke ground on a 1.6M sq.ft. facility.
Aside from economic momentum, the Town also saw quite a bit of local business and retail growth.
Walt’s Eats & Drinks, Circle City Kolache, Slick City Action Park, Ulta Beauty, and Wawa all opened last year.
Additionally, Hype Vault and Queen Anne’s Lace celebrated reopenings at new locations.
Also on Brownsburg’s list of achievements for 2025 was state, and nationwide recognitions. The Town was named the #17th Safest Suburb in America by SmartAsset, and one of the top safest cities in Indiana for the 11th year by SafeWise. They celebrated 10 years as a Tree City USA community. And Virgil Park received two awards for design and environmental innovation.
As for events, the Town hosted the first ever Field of Honor - a 250 flag display at the Town Hall. The dedications generated nearly $6k for the Indiana National Relief Fund.
2025 was also a big year for art in Brownsburg as the Town received two new murals. One was a racing themed installation by Elizabeth Wertman on the B&O Trail, and the other a 100 ft mural painted by IU Health West volunteers near Virgil Park.
Now, looking ahead to 2026 here are some of the changes that can be expected.
Meijer is opening a new 160,000 sq-ft grocery store. Wawa is opening a second location at CR 300 N.
Traffic work, including a study and new signals will be underway.
Infrastructure work will continue including projects like the Lead Service Line replacement, White Lick Creek Stabilization, and resurfacing of the Stephanes Park Pickleball court.
As for public safety, Brownsburg will design a new police training facility, and work on their fourth fire station, which is planned for Ronald Reagan Parkway across from the Lucas Oil Raceway Park.
Going into ‘26 Town Manager Cook has a few goals for the year, one being the beautification of Downtown/Main Street Brownsburg, the other is to invite investment.
“That is good for the community, creating jobs and creating tax base for our residents. That's what funds the services,” Cook said.
